Welcome

Update 24 April 2024:

Unfortunately I am currently full and am unable to take on new clients for the time being. I will update this website when I have availability once again. Thank you.

I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist based in Edinburgh offering therapy to people aged 18 and over.

Clinical psychology offers a safe and supportive space. I aim to help people make sense of their difficulties or life situation and then participate in individually tailored psychological therapies to work on specific problems or life challenges.

What is at the core of my approach?

I believe that the key to successful therapy is the ability to tune into another person's lived experience and listen deeply. This attunement helps to build a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship that allows the client to explore difficult feelings and experiences, understand their origin and make the changes necessary to move towards greater freedom and fulfilment.

I draw upon a range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Phase-based treatment approaches for complex trauma, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused approaches. I also believe that it is important to think about people in their context (be it family, school, community or workplace) as well as consider the impact of inequality, marginalisation and discrimination. I incorporate this in my work wherever possible. I am committed to making my service as accessible and inclusive as I possibly can as well as listening to (and continuing to learn from) those who have experienced exclusion, marginalisation or discrimination in their lives.

I am also part of a small cooperative network of therapists  within the central belt of Scotland. For a more detailed description of my background, therapeutic approach and training, click here.

You can find more information about what clinical psychologists do here.

Supervision: I am an experienced supervisor and can offer supervision to psychologists, counsellors or other mental health professionals. Click here for a description of my approach and experience. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss any aspect of the supervision I offer.

Location and cost: For face-to-face sessions, I am based at the Salisbury Centre, 2 Salisbury Place, Edinburgh (you can view the location on a map here). For information about fees charged click here. I dedicate a proportion (currently around 20%) of my caseload to low fee therapy for those on a low income or not currently employed. This is supported by people attending at the full-fee rate as well as those attending through insurance.
